Saving Your Work

To prevent data loss you should save your work periodically during your damage capturing session. You can do this manually by clicking save or you can configure OnePad to automatically save your work for you. Refer to Configuring User Settings for more information.

Autosave might be enabled by default for your organisation. If this is the case, you will not be able to clear the Autosave tickbox or edit the auto-save period.

Configuring Auto-save

  1. Select the Autosave tickbox.
  2. Define how often you want OnePad to perform an auto-save by dragging the slider to the desired position. The minutes field shows you the period you have defined. In the example below, the user has dragged the slider to 10 minutes. This means that OnePad will automatically save your work every 10 minutes.

  3. Click OK to confirm your selections and close the dialog box.

Saving Your Capturing Session Locally

If you are using an internet or network connection to access a server-based OnePad and the connection to that sever fails, the system will display the following message: There was an error while saving: There was an error connecting to the server and ask you whether you wish to save your capturing session to a local drive. Click:

- Yes to save the session locally.

- No, if you do not wish to save the session locally.

- Cancel to close the dialog box and continue working.

Note: If you choose to save your capturing session locally, the system will indicate where on the local machine the session has been saved. When the connection is restored, you will need this information to load your session so that you can continue working on it. Refer to Loading a Previously Stored Capturing Session for more information.
