Adding Non-standard Positions

Non-standard positions are parts and additional work not stored in the OnePad database, such as vehicle cleaning or fitting a specific stereo system. You add non-standard positions in the Non-Standard Positions tab or by selecting a pictogram from the NSP zone in the Zone Navigation tab. You can also add a new non-standard position by selecting one from a previously defined list.

When adding non-standard positions, you can use the keyboard pad and calculator pad. Click here for details.

Adding a New Non-standard Position
  1. Click the Non-Standard Positions tab.
  2. Click . The Insert a New Non-Standard Position dialog box displays.
  3. Enter a guide number in the Guide no. field.
  4. If necessary, enter a description and spare part description in the fields provided.

    You can enter a maximum of 20 characters in the Description field and a maximum of 15 in the Spare part field.

  5. Click a repair method to select it. The selected repair method is highlighted.
  6. If necessary, enter a value in the following fields:
    • New for Old - this is the percentage the owner of the vehicle must contribute to the cost of a part
    • Amount - this is the price in local currency for the additional work or part.

      You can also enter negative values.

    • Work Unit - this is the number of work units for the additional work or part.
    • Class - this define which labour rate applies to the extra work or part.
  7. Select an aggregate from the Aggregate drop-down box.
  8. If you wish to add the non-standard position to a group, so that you can later filter non-standard positions by their group, select a group from the Group drop-down box. If you wish to create a new group and add the non-standard position to the new group, simply type the name of the new group in the Group drop-down box.   9. Click:

    - OK to add only this position and close the dialog box.

  10. - OK+ to keep the dialog box open and and add further positions.

Adding a Non-standard Position From a Previously Defined List
  1. Click the Non-Standard Positions tab.
  2. Click add nsp to list. The Predefined Non Standard Positions dialog box displays.
  3. Select positions from the list by selecting the tickbox for each non-standard position you wish to add. In the following example, the user has selected three non-standard positions.

    You can sort the list of NSPs by clicking a column header. Click the header once to sort in ascending order and a second time to sort in descending order.

    You can also filter the list of positions by selecting the Group Filter tickbox and then selecting a value from the adjacent drop-down box. This is useful if you wish to see only those positions that belong to a particular group. You can an NSP to a group by entering a value in the Group field in the Create a Pre-defined Non Standard Position dialog box.

  4. Click Add selection to the list of NSP. The system displays the positions you selected in the Non-Standard Positions tab, which you can now edit. Refer to Modifying Standard and Non-standard Positions for more information.

Notes:

- Once added to the system, you can edit standard and non-standard positions. Refer to Editing Standard and Non-standard Positions for more information.

- You can sort the positions displayed in the Non-Standard Positions tab. You might, for example, wish to sort positions by repair type or description. To sort positions, click a column header. You can click the column header a second time to change the sorting order for that column. When you return to the tab, the system remembers your sort preferences.

- If you have enabled interactive cost optimisations and the cost associated with your repair method selection exceeds a threshold, the system will ask you whether you want to perform an optimisation. You also have the opportunity to override work units by entering a new value in the Alternate Work Units field.
