Selecting Variant Parts Using the Variants Tab
The Variants tab provides access to the variant parts for the currently selected vehicle zone. The tab only becomes active and therefore selectable when variant parts exist for the currently selected vehicle zone. The system organises variant parts into groups. By default, these are sorted according to their ID but you can change this by right-clicking in the tab area and selecting an option. You can sort both the groups and the variant parts in each group alphabetically or by ID/guide number .
- Click a vehicle zone from the Zone Navigation tab.
- Click the Variants tab.
- Expand a zone by clicking
. - Click the desired part. The system displays and highlights the selected part in the Vehicle Drawings Panel. You can now select repair and paint methods from the Repair Panel. Refer to Selecting and De-selecting Repair and Paint Methods.
Notes: - You can use the and button in the Toolbar to move to the next and previous variant part for the current vehicle zone. You can also find these buttons in the Navigation Panel if configured to display. See Understanding the OnePad Interface for information about the OnePad interface.
- Variant parts that are shaded blue in the Vehicle Drawings Panel are implausible for the currently selected model options. When you try to apply a repair method, the system will ask you to make new model option selections in the Conflict dialog box.
- If there are several options for the part you selected, the system will display the Selection of Multiple Parts dialog box. You must select the desired part in the dialog box. You can do this in one of two ways. You can click the part to highlight it and then click OK or you can simply double-click the part.
- Depending on the width of the Zones Panel, the system might not display the entire variant part description. To view the description in full, you can either increase the size of the panel or place the cursor over the variant part to view a tooltip showing the full description. For more information about increasing the size of the panel, refer to the section Zones Panel in Understanding the OnePad Interface.
