Capturing Hail Damage for Caravans

How the system calculates the number of work units for hail damage depends on the caravan hail formula configured for your organisation. It is possible that more than one formula has been configured for your use. If this is the case, when you click the LRH button to define the hail damage, you will be able to make a formula selection.

  1. Navigate to the desired vehicle zone.
  2. Click a part to select it.
  3. Click repair method LRH. The Caravan Hail dialog box displays.

If more than one formula has been configured for your organisation, when you click the LRH button you will be able to select a formula from the pop-up menu. The currently active formula is always shown in the header of the Caravan Hail dialog box.

  4. Enter the number of impacts found per square meter mē in the Impact per m2 field.
  5. Select average diameter of the hail impacts in centimetres from the Impact Diameter drop-down box.
  6. Enter the length and width of the damaged part, again in centimetres. First enter the length and then enter the width. You must enter a value in both fields.
  7. Click:

    - OK to save. The system will automatically select the correct paint method based on the diameter and the number of impacts.

    - Cancel to revert the values to the previous save.

    - Delete if you wish to delete the position.

Note:

- You can use the calculator pad to enter values in the Caravan Hail dialog box. Click calculator to open the calculator pad.

- To edit the information you entered in the Caravan Hail dialog box, you can either use the Standard Positions tab or you can click the LRH button in the Repair Panel. If there is more than one caravan hail formula configured for your organisation, you must re-select the formula you used. Of course, you can if necessary, change the formula by making a different selection.

- The CIVD (Caravaning Industrie Verband Deutschland) formula includes a threshold that ensures that repairing the part is the most appropriate option. If you are using this formula and the combination of number of dents and average diameter exceeds the threshold, the system will prompt you to consider replacing the part instead of repairing it. The following message will display: The entered number of dents together with the size are too expensive to be repaired. Please reconsider your selection and choose replace as the repair method.
